Foster families and volunteers are the heartbeat of Last Hope. Without them, none of what we do would be possible. Every animal we rescue depends on the kindness of people who open their homes, give their time, and show up — day after day — for animals who need them most.
Foster a dog

What does dog fostering involve?
Dog fosters provide a temporary home where rescued dogs can decompress, heal, and learn what it feels like to be loved. You’ll provide food, shelter, and basic care — Last Hope covers all veterinary costs and provides support every step of the way. Fostering is one of the most impactful things you can do for an animal in need.

What does cat fostering involve?
Cat fosters open their homes to rescued cats and kittens who need a quiet, caring environment to thrive. Whether it’s a shy cat building confidence or a litter of kittens growing strong, your home could be the place where their story turns around. Last Hope handles all veterinary care and is always here to support you.
VOLUNTEER
Volunteering with Last Hope is about more than showing up — it’s about showing animals that people care. Whether you give an hour or a whole weekend, your time directly touches the lives of dogs and cats who need it most.
Ways to make a difference
Help set up kennels, walk dogs, and care for cats at our Saturday adoption events. Volunteers must be 18 or older.
A great photo can make all the difference in finding an animal their forever home. If you have an eye for photography, we’d love your help.
Help us at fundraisers, fairs, and pet expos throughout the year. It’s a fun way to support Last Hope and connect with your community.
